Each of these games is based around an ID Ball System, which sees microchips incorporated into golf balls. Established in 1997 was especially created in the UK to focus on the use of technology to bring golf to a wider audience. The initial idea was for TopGolf, which saw World Golf Systems work with the US Maxfli golf company to create a golf ball capable of being tracked without affecting the flight of the ball. This ultimately led to the game as it is today. With World Golf Systems’s TopGolf there is no need to walk around a golf course and is a points driven game of golf that can be played indoors from within a specialised bay. What happens is that micro chipped balls are hit from a tee using real clubs, and the aim is to hit targets on the virtual landscape. These targets can range from 20 to 240 yards, and there is an instant visual recognition of how far and how accurate the shot was. World Golf Systems have designed a game for five players that incorporates four different target based games; TopShot (hitting in order); TopBreak (creating snooker like breaks); TopPressure (short game practice); and TopPractice (distance and accuracy practice). There is though no game that mirrors a full round of golf. World Golf Systems have launched three game centres to host TopGolf, one in Essex, one in Surrey and one in Watford. At these venues a game costs from £2.40 and £4.80 depending on day of the week and time when the game is played. These centres normally have about fifty bays where 5 people can play at one time, making it great for corporate events, birthday bashes and social occasions. These venues are great for golfers and non-golfers and there are instructors to give pointers if required. World Golf Systems have followed the initial success of Top Golf with the launch of Top Putt and Top Chip. These other games are simpler versions revolving around putting and chipping, which have made them easier to place in amusement arcades and places like bowling alleys. All in all World Golf Systems are well on their way to achieving their dream of creating a whole new leisure form.

Are you a beginning golfer? Do you struggle with your fairway woods? You can learn to hit your woods better with a few simple drills and steps. Read on to find out how to hit your fairway woods better.

The first thing you need to do is practice more with your 3 and 5 woods. Typically golfers make it a habit to avoid the clubs they don’t hit well. This is because they don’t have a lot of confidence in these clubs so they just don’t want to practice with them. These are the clubs you need to practice with most and if these are your fairway woods, then start hitting more balls with them.

Once you have established a mental need to practice with your woods you can start with this drill. Start by teeing the ball up so that half of it is above the club head when you set it behind the ball. Hit off this high of a tee until you feel comfortable hitting the club.

Next, lower the tee a little and continue until you feel comfortable. Continue lowering the tee until you have it all the way into the ground and you are basically hitting off the ground. The last thing you will do is actually hit the ball off the ground with your 3 and 5 woods. You will need to practice a lot so that you will get used to hitting your fairway woods off the ground.

Learning to hit your fairway woods can be a difficult task if you are a beginners, but it is very important that you learn to. Take your time and practice a lot, then you will have a new set of weapons in your golfing arsenal.

There are a variety of ways you can learn golf and not all require the high cost of a personal golf lesson. Fortunately, there are several ways to effectively acquire golf training and lessons. Online golf lessons are one of many ways to learn golf and, not to mention, one of the most effective ways to gain foundational knowledge, strategies and techniques.

It is relatively easy to find good websites for online golf lessons. With this in mind, you may already have located a user-friendly golf site that offers you access to such online lessons. If not, you should have no problem finding many reputable websites with a variety of means in which to use the lessons whether you belong to a local golf club or are an occasional golfer.

Online golf lessons can provide useful tips on improving certain aspects of your game. Keep in mind that, at first, most websites provide an overview so you can see the broad picture of golf. But, as you learn more about the game in general you can direct the lessons and information more toward those areas of your game that need specific improvement. This information gained will be more personal to your game and more practical in preparing you for the actual golf round.

You will find valuable information and analysis about your stance as well as effective swinging. Online golf lessons sometimes also devote some time toward the mental aspect of golf since it is, indeed, a competitive sport. Not only are you competing against fellow golfers, but you are also competing against the course and yourself.

Online golf lessons are, usually, offered at no charge and included as part of a golf website. However, some golf lessons must be downloaded and may charge a small amount to download. For such sites, payment is typically made securely with a credit card. Of course, shopping around for reputable and effective lessons is very important, especially if there will be a fee assessed. Taking some time to search for not only quality lessons but also lessons that meet your needs will help you avoid spending unnecessary money and provide you with the most help in those areas needing the most attention.

For those websites that offer golf lessons in a format to be downloaded, you find an abundant amount of information. The information is provided to assess whether or not your computer has the capacity to load the programs as well as the capabilities to present the lessons how they are intended to be viewed.

One main benefit of online golf lessons is that you can spend the time improving your golf skills at your own pace and on your own schedule. You can study, practice and review the material at your own leisure without worrying about getting behind. Once you start to see the benefits of the lessons out on the course, you will likely begin searching for additional lessons to perfect other aspects of your game. Knowing where to find the information and what to expect will make the lessons so much more enjoyable!

Teachers field all sorts of questions during a golf lesson. Not all of them are about the golf swing. In fact, many are not. During a recent lesson a student asked about golf gloves. A serious golfer, she wanted to know if she had to wear one and why. It was a good question. It struck a chord with me. Since golf teachers don’t always cover gloves in golf instruction sessions or written golf tips, I thought 12d cover them in a longer article.

Golfers don’t have to wear gloves. There’s nothing in golf’s rules that say they must. In fact, many players with low golf handicaps, including some PGA professionals, play without one. But for those of you who don’t have a low golf handicap or are not a professional player, I recommend wearing one. It can make a difference in your game, especially if you have a high golf handicap. A glove offers key advantages that can improve play.

Got Glove
A glove enables you to grasp a club firmly without adding pressure. Without a glove, you must squeeze the club tighter. This adds tension to your hands and inhibits flexibility in your top-hand wrist joint. Golf gloves are made with a heal pad. When a pad is placed between two surfaces, you don’t have to tighten your grip as much, lessening pressure on the grip. Less grip pressure, in turn, enhances wrist join flexibility and increases club control.

In addition, gloves have features that can improve play. Made from micro-fiber, cabretta, and synthetic leather, they provide sufficient give to allow for a full range of finger flexion, which increase club control. Gloves also keep your hands warm, prevent blisters, and improve dampness control. In short, gloves improve feel and control. In golf, anything that improves feel and control is a big plus.

Buying The Right Glove
The most important considerations when buying a glove is comfort and fit. The glove must be comfortable and fit well. Find one that fits snugly across your palm and fingers, and that has a Velcro strap that fastens easily. If the Velcro strap doesn’t go all they way across the back of your hand, try another glove. If the glove is too loose, try another one as well. Loose material causes blisters. Also, make sure the glove’s fingers aren’t too long or too short.

You also want to buy a glove with the right features. Some gloves come with a strap for holding tees or slit for a wedding ring. Others come with a ball marker. And then there are those gloves that have features specifically for players who have problems with their hands. Recently, the USGA approved the wearing of a special glove for people with arthritis. Manufactured by Hillerich & Bradsby Co., which also produces the famous Louisville Slugger baseball bat, the Bionic Golf (www.bionicglove.com) glove features the design of an orthopedic hand surgeon. The glove improves hand strength and reduces pain for people with arthritis.

Additional Considerations When Buying
In addition to finding a glove with the right features, make sure you’re buying one for the correct hand. A right-handed golfer needs a left-handed glove, the left hand being the top hand. A left-handed golfer needs a right-handed glove. Also choose a glove with the most comfortable materials. Gloves come in leather, nylon, knitted material, or other synthetic material. It’s a matter of personal preference which material feels the best.

Finally, try on different sizes before making a purchase. Ask the attendant if you can see how the glove feels while gripping a club. If it doesn’t feel right, try another glove. If the attendant refuses to let you try on different sizes or test the glove while gripping a club, try another store. Testing the glove is the best way to determine if the glove is right for you. Occasionally, I like to check a player’s glove during a golf lessons to see how well it fits, but not many teachers do, so you need to be on top of this yourself.

An ill-fitting golf glove can drive you crazy. It can be the kind of distraction that can be infuriating during a round of golf. More importantly, an ill-fitting glove can cause slippage and loss of control, costing you strokes. That, in turn, can hurt your confidence. And in golf, you need all the confidence you can muster, if you want to make a serious dent in your golf handicap.

Older people love to travel and not stay at home all the time. Increasingly elder people are getting out there and learning more about travel. If you are an older person, you are going to be interested in taking more summer vacations. You might wander what is going to be the best summer travel spot for you.

There are so many places to see around the world. There are so many to choose from that you can pick any type of attraction and destination that you would like. From the beaches of Miama to the scenic view of Costa Blanca, the options are endless. You can do many different things and enjoy your time off. The first thing to do when looking for a place to travel is to think about the activities that you would want to do when you are away.

Many seniors will like having many different activities to do. If you like to golf then going to a great resort will be a good idea. If you want to go to the beach, you will be glad to see there are so many to choose from. There is so much to do and you will want to take it all in. Thinking about what you want to spend your time doing will be hard but it is something that you need to do.

Finding just the right type of activity to do is going to be a lot of fun. However there are some things that you will want to stay away from. Some places are more for the younger group of travelers. Many older people do not like the noisy music and all the partying. Large amounts of drinking are another activity that many seniors do not like at all.

Going on some of the vacations that you may want may be expensive. If you are someone that can take on the high cost of a far off travel destination, you may want to go somewhere overseas. This is going to be the best idea for a senior to take on to see the wanders of the world. You should research this idea and make sure that you are healthy enough and can take on the challenge of a long ride before you think about committing to this type of vacation.

There are so many places overseas to travel. You can go to France, Italy and even Spain. They are very exciting and have a lot of history behind them. You will love all the great attractions and you will want to check out the different sites that are offered. Take the opportunity to have a tour guide with you so that you can learn as much as possible about these beautiful places.

The many different destinations for summer traveling will make it a difficult decision but it is something that you have to think about. No matter where you go you will want to remember it for a lifetime to come.

If we setup poorly to the ball, this affects every part of the swing. Even though we might be able to compensate with a flick of the wrist, tilt of the waist, delay the release of the hands through the ball, we will never have a consistent swing that results in a consistent ball flight.

A very common symptom of poor set up will result in this scenario.

1st tee off fly straight, 2nd tee off flies right, 3rd tee of flies left, 4th shot flies left again, as we slowly adjust and compensate, the 5th shot flies straight. 6th tee off, the ball flies right again, then we wonder, why???

When we set up poorly or get lazy, the ball really could go anywhere. Without a consistent setup, it is very hard to achieve consistent results.

Here’s today’s golf tip that can help you setup correctly.

Today’s Golf Setup Tip:

When setting up to the ball, the distance from your hand to your inner thigh increases as the club gets longer. So if you’re holding a pitching wedge, in which case, your hands are closer to your inner thigh, if its a 3 iron, this distance increases. This is because longer clubs require us to have a delayed hit on the ball, with the butt of the shaft pointing at the target before we release the club and strike the ball.

So if we’re using a longer club and our hands are too close to our inner thigh, what will happen is we will have an over the top move where the club will come from an out to in path.

I have been golfing since I was 7 years old. My father started by making me custom clubs. He cut the shafts down and even bore out the weight in the wedges and irons for me so I could swing them. By the time I was 10, he started to video tape and study my swing. He was fascinated by what he called my “natural swing” and spent hours studying and trying to duplicate it himself. At this point my love of the game started to fade. Going to the driving range was no longer fun, it started to feel like a classroom. my 20/20 hindsite tells me that if I had any brains I would have stuck with it, become a pro and retired by now, but that’s life! Later in life (when I hit my 20’s) the excitement started to return. I found that it was fun and relaxing to hit the links. I also found that my “natural swing” no longer existed and it might take years just to be as good as I was at age 10. Years of baseball and other sports had completely destroyed my swing and I had a lot of work ahead of me to get that tiny little ball into that tiny little hole 285 yards away!

I had never understood my father’s obsession with different drivers, putters, irons, and wedges, until this point. I know found myself sorting through his 3 main sets of clubs trying out everything I could get me hands on. I loved the Big Bertha . . . that added 40 yards to my drive instantly, and of course his 1968 Ping putter. He says he wants to be buried with it, but I hate to say, when he’s gone, it’s mine! Years later I am completely consumed with trying every new club out there to see if I can shave a couple of strokes off my game. I have even put up a website with the best deals I could find on quality golf products.

Also, when you are looking for deals, try the reputable companies that have a “pre-owned” program. They completely refurbish clubs and resell them at a fraction of the price as the new ones. I have not been able to find anything different in them and it is an exceptional value. Be wary of no name golf sites that tote brand name items. Like anything else on the internet, there are great deals to be found, but always deal with a reputable company. You wouldn’t buy a McDonald’s BigMac from “Joey’s Burgers” so don’t buy a Callaway golf club from “Joey’s Golf Clubs”. Knock offs happen, and it just seems a little too risky for me.

All in all, the game of golf will challenge you every time, with every swing, and on every hole. The right equipment can make a world of difference and doesn’t have to break the bank if you do a little looking. May all you drives be long and straight, and may all your par 3’s be Hole-In-Ones!
